You've Got to Move On

from I'm Just An Average Cosmic Being! by Dada Veda

about

I heard a story about Rohit a great scholar in Vedic times who was lethargic. His father, a manual laborer, scolded him. His father said "when a personʼs face get perspired due to constant labor, the beauty of the face of that person is unprecedented. Since that is the perspiration due to hard labor, its beauty is flawless and unparalleled. Even Indra, the king of gods aspires for befriending such a person."

That story, as told by my teacher Shrii Shrii Anandamurti was the starting point for a song, encouraging us to work and go forward in our life.

lyrics

When you lie a lump
Your fate lies sleeping
Get up and move on and stop the weeping
Sit up and get up your fate will awake
Move on, Move on Let’s make the word shake.

With the Sweat on your brow like diamonds on a crown
You’ve got to move on, you’ve got to move on
Leave the dark age behind, hold your fate in your hand
Move on, move on, it’s time to make your stand.

No need to check the stars or look in a mirror,
Your future is bright, your future is bright
Get up and move on, let’s set things right.
We’re gonna change the world, let’s start it tonight.
